Last year was the first ever Jigsaw 5k; a charity fun run at Dunsfold Park organised by Jigsaw School and Informed Choice.
Our first charity running event saw over 100 runners brave a frosty December morning to run 5k along the main runway and perimeter tracks, with a great atmosphere and some impressive efforts from all runners.
As we plan for our 2013 event, we are making a few changes so the Jigsaw Run can be even bigger and better this year.
Last year we picked a 5k distance which was designed to appeal to as many runners as possible; first timers who wanted an achievable goal for their first race and experienced runners who were looking to smash a personal best.
This year we have decided to offer two distances.
The main event is a 10k race which is open to all ages and abilities. This will consist of two laps of the course, starting and finishing at the top of the main runway.
With nearly three miles of the course consisting of a long, straight runway, and only minor undulations along the back part of the perimeter road, this is a course designed for personal bests.
We are also hosting a 3k family fun run, which is an out and back along the main runway. This is a great opportunity for all ages and abilities to run nearly 2 miles and participate in what is sure to be an excellent event.
With a little over four months to go before the Jigsaw Run 2013, we have loads to do and look forward to bringing it all together once more.
We will be regularly updating this blog with updates about the event and some training tips for new runners. We are also planning to organise a couple of free group training sessions at Dunsfold Park, so watch this space for news.
